What Proverbs Tell Us, About Laziness vs Diligence

When taken into context as to why so many shy away from the poor, it's usually because in the vast parts of the world a man is poor because he is lazy and never bothered to work hard enough to better his lot in life. Those closest to him understand why he is poor and they shy away from him, because a man's life is only as good as is his desire to succeed.

Laziness casts one into a deep sleep,
And an idle person will suffer hunger. (Proverb 19:15)
A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl,
And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. (Proverb 19:24)
Wealth makes many friends,
But the poor is separated from his friend. (Proverb 19:4)
All the brothers of the poor hate him;
How much more do his friends go far from him!
He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him.(Proverb 19:17)

The Summer of “73”

Everyone has memories they cherish from times when they were growing up. I have many memories, but none of them are as memorable as the ones I have of the Summer of “73”. That Summer holds some of the most cherished memories of my teen years. Not so much because of what I did that Summer, but more because of the woman I met who treated me like the son she never had.

It was long before I gave my life to Christ, but a time that helped influence the Christian I would one day become. If for no other reason than the woman who did her best to give direction and order to a teen who needed it.

It was a time in my life that I went farther and seen more than many do in a life time. I would travel through Canada, down through Montana to Tupelo Mississippi, and then to Birmingham Alabama, before catching a bus back home to Duluth Mn. All along the way I would spend time in places like Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Butte Mt, and even Bozeman Mt where my brother and I were able to get out to Gallatin Gateway to visit our grandparents. There were many small towns and big cities along the way where I met many different people, and fall in love with some young gals along the way more than a few times.

What Are You Addicted To?

Every human has been hot wired with a special faith component to our souls, even agnostics and atheists have faith in what they believe. Another way to explain this would be to say we have all been created with an addiction gene. It's that ever yearning desire to find something that will make us feel like we belong, or comfortable in our own skin if you will.

From the moment we become conscious of our self, we begin searching for that One Thing our soul craves. For each of us it could be a different point in life. Some find it when they are 10, some at 14, and yet others may take years before they find it, even into their 90s or on their deathbed. Sadly, most humans never find it until it's much, much too late. However, each and everyone of us are in search of it, even though we don't realize it.
